Repair Terms

Diagnostic/Data Recovery:

There is a $75 diagnostic fee for laptop/desktop or a $100 diagnostic fee for custom build PC. Fee is waived upon repair. There is no fee for data recovery attempt from external hard drive. OTSCR does not guarantee they can fix any laptop/desktop at any time. Replacement parts may not be available or
may cost more than the computer’s current value. I understand that OTSCR does not replace motherboards or logic boards (laptops only).

Repair Time:

I agree and understand that exact repair time varies greatly and can be affected by repair type,
inventory, other factors, etc. Any repair time given to me is an estimate. If during the repair any issues arise that will affect estimated repair time, OTSCR will notify me via phone number or email I provided.

Data Backup/Software:

I agree and understand that OTSCR will do everything possible to protect the data on my computer. I am responsible for maintaining a backup of my data prior to repair. I agree not to hold OTSCR responsible in any way for data lost, data corruption or consequences of the failure to recover data prior to repair. I understand that OTSCR can only recover data (documents, pictures, music) from my computer. If hard drive has any encryption (such as BitLocker, I understand OTSCR cannot gain access to the data without the recovery key. Re-installation of any programs that I had on my computer prior to repair (including Microsoft Office) will require physical installation discs, serial numbers, and product keys. OTSCR will not re-install any software. This includes cloning and mirror imaging. I agree to provide copies of any licensed software if necessary.

Loss or Damage:

I agree and understand that OTSCR is not responsible for loss of or damage to computer equipment, laptops, desktops or software left for repair in case of fire, theft, natural disasters, or any other causes beyond their control. OTSCR is not responsible for data loss or hardware/component failures that occur during attempted repairs, testing, or at any other time. I will not hold OTSCR liable for loss of profit or any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damage occurring from or after laptop testing, diagnostics, or repairs.

Abandonment:

I agree and understand that if I do not pick up my computer within 30 days after I have been notified of diagnostics and completed repair, OTSCR will consider the computer abandoned and recycle it. Deposits left for repair part(s) are non-refundable if I do not return within 14 days to complete repair after being notified of part(s) arrival and OTSCR will claim ownership of part(s).

Privacy:

I understand that OTSCR will not browse through my hard drive; however, during the course of repair
they may inadvertently see data. OTSCR respects my privacy and will not disclose any information to a third party unless permission is given or where law obligates OTSCR.

Warranties:

I agree and understand that any upgrade, repair and/or service performed by OTSCR may void the
original manufacturer’s warranty. I understand that OTSCR offers a 30 days warranty for labor and a 14 or 30 days warranty for parts except hard drives.

Right to Refuse:

I agree and understand that in its sole discretion, OTSCR reserves the right to refuse work it
believes is beyond the scope of its ability or for other good cause.
